About this qualification

The Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis is designed for experienced technicians seeking to formalise their advanced diagnostic skills. Covers complex engine management, drivetrain, electrical and electronic systems diagnosis. RPL is available for experienced mechanics with demonstrated competency.

There is strong employer demand for technicians who can work at master level. Workshop owners, fleet operators and dealer networks actively seek technicians with advanced diagnostic capability — and pay a premium for it.

How it's delivered

Training and assessment is workplace-based. RPL is available for technicians with 5+ years of trade experience — a Mechanist assessor works with you to map your existing skills against all units.
