About this qualification

The Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology is an entry-level automotive qualification designed for school leavers and trainees beginning their career in automotive service. Ideal for those working as a mechanic's assistant, apprentice support, or starting out in a workshop environment before progressing to a Certificate III trade qualification.

Automotive servicing trainees are actively sought by workshops, dealerships and quick-fit centres looking to develop their workforce. This qualification is the most common entry point to a motor mechanic apprenticeship.

How it's delivered

All training and assessment is conducted in the workplace. A dedicated Mechanist trainer is assigned to each student and employer, visiting regularly to observe, assess and support. No classroom attendance required.

Earnings potential
