About this qualification

The Certificate II in Automotive Electrical Technology introduces students to automotive electrical systems including basic wiring, battery systems and lighting. Ideal for those entering the trade or preparing for a Certificate III Auto Electrical apprenticeship.

Auto electrical skills are highly sought-after across dealerships, fleet operators and independent workshops. Completing a Certificate II is an excellent pathway toward the full Certificate III trade qualification, which is in strong demand nationally.

Earnings potential

Trainees earn the relevant Award trainee rate during training. Once you progress to a full Certificate III Auto Electrical apprenticeship, qualified auto electricians earn $80,000–$115,000 per year.
