Am I eligible for a funded place in the WORKREADY Program?

You may be eligible for government subsidised training if you either live or work in South Australia, and you are:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen;
  • a permanent Australian resident; or
  • the holder of a state sponsored visa and on a pathway to a permanent residency.

You also need to be one of the following:

  • aged 16 years or over and not enrolled at school; or
  • • aged 16 years or over, enrolled in school and undertaking training through the Student Pathways (Vocational Education & Training – VET in Schools – VETRO);
  • undertaking training through a training contract as an apprentice or trainee.

All eligible individuals will be entitled to:

  • one funded course selected from Certificate II level;
  • two funded courses selected from Certificate III level and above;
  • unlimited priority Courses.

Enrolment Conditions

Some subsidised training courses have enrolment conditions and are only available to specific groups of students. These conditions are noted in the above course listing and below are explanations of those conditions:-

Training Contract only – You must be an apprentice or trainee with an approved Training Contract.

School Based Apprentice or Trainee (SBAT) only – You must be an school-based apprentice or trainee with an approved Training Contract.

VET in Schools (VETRO) only only – You must be a student enrolled in school and undertaking vocational education and training as part of your SACE. Speak to your VET-Co-ordinator.
