With this qualification you can carry out advanced diagnostic operations in the automotive retail, service and repair environment, the job role is referred to as an automotive lead or master technician, or an automotive technical adviser.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, at MECHANIST, we assess a potential leaners’ capability through our Pre-Training Review process which includes an assessment of your Language Literacy and Numeracy skills.

There are no limitations to entry based on age, gender, social or educational background. However, as the course requires physical activity, students should be aware that they will need to be physically capable of completing the course activities, such as being able to stand for long periods of time.

Further training pathways from this qualification include Diploma of Automotive Management, AUR50212 Diploma in Automotive Technology or other relevant qualifications.

This qualification is pursued as a Non-apprenticeship.

On Campus (Non-Apprenticeship) delivery enables you to gain a full qualification. Learners will be required to attend structured Workshop Sessions at MECHANIST Campus. A Learner can choose to engage either full-time or part-time to complete the course in this delivery mode.

Structured Work Placement is an essential part of a Non-Apprenticeship. A minimum of 10 weeks Structured Work Placement is required to obtain your qualification.
