The Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology is designed to prepare new employees or recognises and develops existing workers who service, diagnose and repair vehicle electrical and electronic systems and components.
This course is designed to prepare New Employees or recognise and develop existing workers, who inspect and service as well as diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical and electronic systems and components.
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to service, diagnose and repair electrical systems and components on all types of vehicles in the automotive retail, service and repair industry. The job role is referred to as an Automotive Electrician
The Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology qualification is made up of 32 units.
Core: 21 Units
Elective: 11 Units
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, we assess a potential leaners’ capability through our Pre-Training Review process which includes an assessment of your Language Literacy and Numeracy skills.
There are no limitations to entry based on age, gender, social or educational background. However, as the course requires physical activity, students should be aware that they will need to be physically capable of completing the course activities, such as being able to stand for long periods of time.

Further training pathways from this qualification include Certificate IV in Automotive Electrical Technology or other relevant qualifications.
At Mechanist, we offer our qualification both as Apprenticeship and Non-apprenticeship.
You can begin this apprenticeship while you are still at school, just out of school, or later in life and will be required to enter into a training contract with your employer.

We blend your learning and assessment between attending workshops in our campus and structured training in the workplace. We take what you’re already good at and make you even better.
On Campus (Non-Apprenticeship) delivery enables you to gain a full qualification. Learners will be required to attend structured Workshop Sessions at MECHANIST Campus. A Learner can choose to engage either full-time or part-time to complete the course in this delivery mode.
Structured Work Placement is an essential part of a Non-Apprenticeship. A minimum of 10 weeks Structured Work Placement is required to obtain your qualification.
